IT Tralee has announced a competitive scholarship scheme to support Irish and international students who wish to commence a master by research degree (full time) at IT Tralee in September 2018.
The IT Tralee Scholarships, now open for applications, include full tuition fees and a student stipend of €700 per month towards living expenses for a maximum period of 18 months on a full time basis. The master’s projects on offer explore cutting edge challenging and exciting questions across a broad range of research topics in areas where the Institute is leading research discoveries on an international platform.
Speaking at the announcement Dr Siobhan MacSweeney, Head of Research at IT Tralee said: “IT Tralee offers a number of postgraduate research scholarships every year in recognition of academic and research excellence. In an increasingly competitive jobs market, graduates recognise that higher levels of education increases employability as well as salary. These fully funded Master by Research programmes offer a fantastic opportunity to students wishing to progress to a level 9 qualification while researching an area of interest.”
Vice President for Research, Development and External Engagement at the IT Tralee Bríd McElligott said: “Today’s announcement of 8 funded research scholarships will offer an excellent opportunity for high calibre graduates to pursue a master’s degree across a broad range of exciting research topics at IT Tralee. The majority of the projects were developed in close collaboration with industry and societal partners maximising their relevance to solving the needs of the wider community.”
The eight fully funded research projects announced today are in the areas of Biological and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Computing, Hotel, Culinary Arts and Tourism, Nursing and Healthcare Sciences and Health & Leisure Studies.
Applicants must demonstrate an exceptional level of academic excellence and commitment to their Master’s programme of choice, along with meeting the course entry requirements. The closing date for receipt of completed applications by email to research@ittralee.ie is 12 noon 6th June 2018.
Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend for interview during week commencing 11th June 2018. Successful applicants will commence their master by research programmes on a full time basis at IT Tralee in September 2018.
